QR Code Sharing
Generate QR codes for your forms. Perfect for events, flyers, posters, and offline distribution.
QR codes make it easy for people to access your form with their mobile device. Simply scan the code with a phone camera, and the form opens instantly—no typing required.
When to Use QR Codes
QR codes are perfect for:
- Events: Display QR codes on screens, registration desks, or booth signage
- Print materials: Add to flyers, posters, brochures, or business cards
- In-person settings: Restaurants, retail stores, conferences, trade shows
- Offline-to-online: Bridge physical and digital experiences

QR Code Best Practices
Size and Placement
- Minimum size: QR codes should be at least 2×2 cm (0.8×0.8 inches) for reliable scanning
- Larger is better: For distant viewing (posters, banners), go 10×10 cm or larger
- Eye-level placement: Place QR codes at comfortable scanning height
- Good lighting: Ensure codes are well-lit and not in shadow
Design Tips
- High contrast: Always use black QR code on white background (or vice versa)
- No distortion: Never stretch or compress QR codes—always maintain square aspect ratio
- Quiet zone: Leave white space around the QR code (at least 1cm on all sides)
- Test before printing: Scan the QR code with multiple devices before mass printing
Add Context and CTA
Never display a QR code without context. Always include:
- Clear instruction: "Scan to fill out our feedback form"
- Value proposition: "Takes less than 2 minutes"
- Incentive (optional): "Enter to win a $50 gift card"
Common Use Cases
Events and Conferences
Display QR codes on:
- Registration desks
- Presentation slides
- Booth signage
- Name badges
- Session feedback forms

- Table tents in restaurants (feedback forms)
- Product packaging (warranty registration, reviews)
- Store windows (newsletter signup)
- Receipt printouts (satisfaction surveys)
Marketing Materials
- Flyers and handouts
- Business cards
- Posters and billboards
- Magazine ads

Tracking QR Code Scans
SmarterForm doesn't track QR code scans separately, but you can see all form views in your Analytics dashboard.
To differentiate QR code traffic from other sources, consider:
- Using a unique form with a custom slug for each campaign
- Adding a hidden field or question asking "How did you hear about us?"
