Shareable Links

Publish your form and share it via a public link. Set custom slugs for memorable URLs.

Every published form on SmarterForm gets a public URL that you can share with anyone. No login required for respondents—they just click the link and fill out your form.

How Shareable Links Work

When you publish a form, SmarterForm generates a public URL. There are two types of URLs:

Default URL (Form ID)

Every form automatically gets a URL based on its unique ID:

https://yourdomain.com/f/[formId]

Example: https://smarterform.dev/f/j7d8k2m5n4p9

Custom Slug (Optional)

You can set a custom slug for a more memorable URL:

https://yourdomain.com/f/s/[your-slug]

Example: https://smarterform.dev/f/s/contact-form

Publishing and Sharing

  1. 1

Open your form in the Builder

Navigate to your form from the Dashboard.

  2. 2

    Click the Share button

Find the Share button in the top-right corner of the Builder.

  3. 3

    Toggle Published

Turn on the Published switch. Your form immediately becomes accessible via its public URL.

  4. 4

    Copy the link

Click Copy link to copy the URL to your clipboard. Now you can paste it anywhere: email, social media, Slack, etc.

Setting a Custom Slug

Custom slugs make your URLs easier to remember and share:

  1. 1

    Open the Share modal

    Click Share in the Builder.

  2. 2

    Find the slug field

Look for the Custom slug field.

  3. 3

    Enter your slug

Type a memorable slug like feedback-2024 or newsletter-signup.

    Slugs must be:

    • Lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only
    • Unique across all forms on SmarterForm
    • Between 3-50 characters
  4. 4

    Save

Click Save. Your form is now accessible at /f/s/[your-slug].

Slug Availability

If a slug is already taken, you'll see an error. Try a different variation (e.g., contact-2024 instead of contact).

Unpublishing a Form

If you need to temporarily disable your form:

  • Open the Share modal
  • Toggle Published off
  • Your form's public URL will no longer be accessible

You can republish anytime by toggling Published back on. Your link stays the same.

Sharing Best Practices

  • Test before sharing: Open your form's public URL in an incognito window to test the respondent experience.
  • Use custom slugs for campaigns: Makes tracking and sharing easier (e.g., /f/s/webinar-march).
  • Share multiple ways: Use direct links, QR codes, and embeds together for maximum reach.
  • Monitor analytics: Check your Analytics tab regularly to see who's responding.
